Missing man found alive four days after car crash

Four days after a car crash off a New York parkway, a missing man was found seriously injured but still alive. Tomas Wopat-Moreau, 22, was last seen leaving a party on May 30. He drove off of the road and launched his car more than 400 feet into the woods. The New York state police found Tomas at 2:10 p.m. after tracking a signal from his cell phone. They found a three-mile radius where the phone call was coming from and they searched that area.

This is a bad incident that can happen to anyone. It just happened to happen to this guy after he was leaving a party. People need to be aware the dangers of driving after attending a party. It is too bad that it had to happen to this guy. It is a miracle that this guy is alive since he flew 400 feet into a woods. Hopefully he can fully recover from this incident and maybe he will learn from his mistake so that it won't happen to him again.

BP says oil flowing from ruptured well to ship on Gulf surface

The news came out that BP is going to close four vents atop the containment cap. Once the vents are shut they are hoping that very little oil will escape. Since the oil spill the oil has already hit islands off of Mississippi and Alabama. BP completed a complex underwater maneuver when it lowered a cap over the ruptured well after they cut off a piece of the damaged pipe. They didn't make a fine cut on the pipe so it is a possiblility that the cap won't be snug around the pipe and it may allow oil to still flow out.

This is a great attempt to try to limit the amount of oil that is released into the Gulf of Mexico. It still won't repair the damage that has been made to the Gulf and US states around the Gulf. It has caused the animals to have to struggle to survive through the oily sludge. It has caused great damage to the Gulf and surrounding states and it will take many years for it to get back to it was like before this disaster.

Wounded taxi driver 'watched friend shot in face'

Twelve people were killed in a shooting rampage in the town of Whitehaven. Derrick Bird was the shooter and shot at Don Reed. Reed watched his fellow friend, Darren Rewcastle get shot in the face. Reed was previously in the military and he used his training to crawl over to where his friend was lying down. When he got to him his face was gone and he was dead. Bird drove away shooting at other taxi drivers and he eventually shot himself.

This would be a horrible thing to witness. Seeing anyone shot in the face would be bad but when it is one of your friends it makes everything worse. It is probably going to haunt Reed for the rest of his life. He is going to replay that day when he saws his best friend get shot at and crawling over to him to see him lying there with no face and dead. I don't know how I would be able to handle it first getting shot at yourself but then seeing your friend's face getting blown up from the shot.

Feds have launched criminal oil spill investigation, AG says

The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico may have had a crime commited said U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder. Holder also said that they have launched a criminal and civil investigation. The investigations will cover all aspects of the spill including the death of 11 workers from the explosion and fire that started the oil leak. Holder said that there will be no rest until justice is done. If anyone is found responsible for this trajedy they must be held accountable.

If someone is found guilty for this spill they should need to do something to repair the damage that is being done to the Gulf. This disaster has caused many changes to that area and they should have to repair it. This oil spill will take many years to get it back to what it was like before the spill. If someone commited a crime while creating the oil spill they should feel guilty and they should know that they changed the Gulf of Mexico forever.

Transcript reveals last moments of doomed flight

During a flight in April the pilots of a Tupolev-154 plane were warned that there was danger ahead. The pilots were warned about eight times that they should pull up and that there was terrain ahead of them. The pilot didn't listen and the plane crashed and killed 100 people one of which was the president of Poland, Lech Kaczynski. The president was on his way to Russia for the 70th anniversary of the massacre of Polish prisoners of war in Katyn.

This is a bad incident especially since the plane was warned that there was danger ahead of them. The pilot of the plane should have listened and pulled up. The pilot should have been more responsible knowing that his life was in danger but more importantly the lives of many others. He decided not to listen and he eventually killed 100 people and a president from Poland. Now there will be many families that will have to try to determine what the pilot was thinking and a country that will need to have a new person step in to be their president.
